I know this question is on the minds of a lot of parents, so I decided to share my thoughts with you!
First of all, what is custom photography?
Custom photography is all about you and your family. Custom photographers should be open to as much or as little creative planning as you want to contribute. They allow you to help choose the location and jump at the opportunity to help take your vision to the next level. They love for you to contribute to unique prop choices and ideas. Custom photographers are happy to help with styling and outfit planning. Most importantly, if your children need a break, we take one! Unlike budget studios, there is no one waiting in line and no reason to rush. A good custom photographer will build a relationship with your family over the years, which will help your child feel comfortable showing off his precious personality. Many of my clients have truly become great friends of mine, and I look forward to meeting new clients!
Custom photography is an investment in commissioning fine art to help preserve your favorite memories and faces, resulting in a one-of-a-kind creation you will cherish for years to come.
How do I choose a photographer?
Choosing a custom photographer is an extremely personal decision. My style of photography may not be right for everyone, and that's ok! There are many photographers in virtually any city in the world. In choosing a custom photographer, you are commissioning an artist to create photographic art specifically for your family. Choose an artist whose work speaks to you! Your collection of custom photographic art will be a family treasure forever!
So, why does custom photography cost more than a budget studio?
A custom photographer invests much more time in YOU, both on the front end and behind the scenes! On average, I spend about 8-12 hours on each and every client and even more for newborn clients. A great deal of planning goes on before we meet up, then even more goes into making your photographs into fine art on the back end. Digital cameras are a fantastic invention, but images do not come out of the camera looking perfect. No matter how expensive the equipment and no matter how amazing the photographer, raw images will always come out of the camera looking a bit dull and not as sharp as they could be. A great capture is extremely important and the very biggest step to creating beautiful images, but much more is needed to ready the images into art. It's my job to take them to the next level for you, and I spend hours doing just that. Custom photography is about much more than just a snapshot.
Should you choose custom photography?
I bet you can guess my answer... yes! Fine art, custom photography created by an experienced, professional photographer is an investment you will always be proud of. It is impossible to go back in time to capture those sweet faces once they've grown. Don't miss out on the opportunity while it's here! In my opinion, the importance of creating beautiful photographic art of your children and family through the years is immeasurable, and it's my passion in life to create fine art for you!
